I'm Hugo Metzger, project manager at MH Conception. I work mainly for private individuals and professionals on projects ranging from 10000 to 500000 euros .
What are your day-to-day challenges?
My starting point was a simple observation: people love to have work done, despite the risks of overrunning deadlines and prices. Over the years I've worked for a major construction company, I've become aware of the differences in project management, depending on the size of the site. When unjustified, these differences can lead to errors and inaccuracies. So my daily challenge was to find the solution best suited to the size of my job sites, without having to juggle constantly between the tape measure and the rangefinder.
Why did you choose iMapper?
I turned to iMapper first and foremost because of its cutting-edge technology.
What was it like before iMapper?
Like many architects, I used to do my measurements by hand, using a notebook, a pen, a laser rangefinder for large distances and a tape measure for small ones. But surveys take a long time, and there are a lot of mistakes to be made when you have to remember all the notations placed on the plans once you've left the meeting with the customer.
What's the situation now?
It's radically different. I now have total confidence in my measurements, something I lacked before. I let the iMapper run around a room and can focus on the points I consider most important, such as discussions with my customers. Once the survey is complete, I download the data and model the apartment almost instantly.
What would you say to companies to convince them to choose iMapper?
You have to try it out, and after an initial survey you're bound to be convinced.
