I'm Pascal Belot, 33 years old. I'm the co-founder of Noïa, a company specializing in the sale of renovated properties. Our concept is to find, renovate and market old abandoned buildings, barns, houses, old buildings, apartments and so on.
We also have a works company that offers to assist buyers with building renovation.
What are your day-to-day challenges?
Our biggest challenge is to minimize the time between finding a property and putting it up for sale.
Between these two phases, we take care of a lot of sometimes time-consuming tasks that slow down the process. We find a property and value it. Then we draw up 2D and 3D plans. We cost the work.
We also carry out an energy study, since we've adopted the global renovation approach. The aim is to renovate using economical and ecological solutions.
The challenge is to reduce the time spent on these tasks so that we can concentrate on renovation and marketing.
Why do you choose iMapper?
We looked for ways to take action quickly without it costing us too much.
Today, systems do exist. But they are very costly and complex to set up. If you're not in the business, they're not easy to integrate into your processes.
We searched the Internet... And we found iMapper, which seemed to be an efficient, affordable solution that met our needs.
What was it like before iMapper?
Before iMapper, our surveys were boring, time-consuming, tedious and stressful. We did everything by hand, with tape measures and rangefinders. Two people were needed. One took the measurements of the building. The other would make notes on a sketch. The risk of error is high.
What's more, our concept is to renovate old, abandoned buildings... So nothing is straight!
What's the situation now?
The situation has changed radically. With the iMapper, it doesn't take two people. So now there's just one person at each appointment. Usually, you arrive at the sales appointment directly with the iMapper.
Simply place the iMapper in position and press a button. No need to be focused or meticulous. No stress.
You can do other things while the iMapper is running.
When we talk to the customer, the iMapper turns on and he takes his measurements all by himself. The result is perfect. The measurements are accurate. We don't have to go back to the site if we make a mistake.
The iMapper lets you concentrate on what's really important: the customer. It's great to be able to talk about estimates, renovations, sales strategy... without worrying about taking measurements!
What would you say to real estate agants to convince them to use iMapper?
The iMapper is a solution that meets a real need. When you're not a surveyor, taking measurements can be really difficult. This solution allows architects like us to work on very complex buildings without any problems.
When we survey with the iMapper, we're sure of getting accurate, reliable plans. This saves us a lot of time. What's more, the iMapper is easy to set up and use.
It's a solution that's really affordable for the service it provides.
The iMapper pays for itself very quickly when you consider the time spent on each reading (not to mention all the oversights and errors!).
What's more, iMapper offers an extra service (iMapper Studio) to make life even easier for professionals who don't necessarily have the in-house resources to plot 2D plans or stitch point clouds.
The last thing to mention is the availability of iMapper's founders and employees to answer questions and solve problems. It's really nice to be able to count on their team.
So for those who want to save time without spending too much money on quantity surveys, I think it's a really great solution.
What are the financial benefits of iMapper?
Today's solution is incomparable to anything else on the market. The iMapper produces 2D cross-sections that are just as useful as 3D plans produced by much more expensive equipment.
The cost of a conventional 3D scanner is reduced by a factor of almost 10.
It's a one-time purchase. It works perfectly. I've never had a problem. What's more, it comes with a two-year warranty, which is not insignificant. And the subscription price for the platform is quite affordable.
So for small structures, it's just as suitable.
In a nutshell?
I think it's a complete package that works.
Practicality: It's a small, portable scanner. It comes with everything you need. It's easy to carry around.
Ease of use: Even a beginner doesn't need to know a lot. The iMapper is self-contained.
Price: The iMapper is very affordable, and quickly pays for itself in terms of the service it provides and the support platform that lets you recut points, export DXF files for later use in software...
So I don't have much to say. I'd like to find some flaws, but I haven't found any yet.
